At Local Beans Roastery, we aim to provide an immersive learning experience that explores the cultural significance of coffee within Vietnamese society. Situated in Hanoi, the heart of the country’s coffee tradition, our program introduces participants to six representative Vietnamese coffee styles, each reflecting distinct regional practices and historical influences.
Through guided demonstrations and interactive discussions, participants gain insight into how coffee has evolved from a colonial import into a defining element of Vietnam’s modern identity. The workshop emphasizes not only the technical aspects of brewing but also the symbolic role of coffee in social connection, creativity, and everyday life.
Designed for international visitors and coffee enthusiasts alike, our class offers an educational and sensory journey — fostering cultural understanding through the simple yet profound act of sharing a cup of coffee.

November 12, 2025 - Absolutely lovely experience! Lin was super friendly and knowledgeable and shared great detail about the coffee culture in Vietnam. The environment and atmosphere effortlessly allowed the group of strangers to become good acquaintances. This was an amazing experience - do not miss out!

November 11, 2025 - This experience was amazing! Incredibly informative and Luka was very friendly and knowledgeable. The coffee itself was amazing very delicious and opened my eyes to a new world of understanding as a coffee lover! Highly recommend this experience!

October 1, 2025 - We booked last minute, but Giang accommodated us so wonderfully! She was so warm and welcoming, and had us laughing throughout the class. She shared the history of coffee in such an engaging way, with lots of smell and taste tests to keep it interactive. We tried five different coffees, and to our surprise we got to try a variety of different wines! One of which hasn’t been released yet, our favourite were the apricot and plum! We even used one of the wines to create our own coffee cocktail. Learning how to make Vietnamese coffee ourselves was such a highlight, and now we can bring a little piece of Vietnam home to share with our family. We even brought our own Phin!

November 11, 2025 - The coffee workshop was amazing fun. Luka had a slide show to explain each coffee along with the recipe. We tried 6 different types of coffee, including the famous salt coffee and egg coffee, finishing with some homemade wines (like spirits as the only word for alcohol in Vietnam is wine) and a coffee cocktail. Luka was a great host, the experience was so fun and the coffee was delicious. Definitely recommend for both coffee 'snobs' and just casual enjoyers alike!
